Project: Create a 5K race from scratch
Role: Everything! Creative Director, Designer, Strategist, Logistics, Sponsorships
Tools: Illustrator, Photoshop, Wix, Instagram, Facebook, Mailchimp, Haku, Groupon, Rush49
Objective: To create all visual and physical graphic design elements for the newly reimagined St. Paddy's Day 5K Hilltop Challenge. This included new logo, color palette, finisher medals, winner medals, bibs, t-shirt & tank top, drink glasses, signage, banners, course map, and all runner communication.
Challenge: We were on a major time crunch as this race launched with just two months until race day. So I had to get everything done with the quickness!
Solution: Long days and hard work! Runners love "What You Get". With a saturated running event market, "what you get" is an integral part of how a runner chooses which races they do. We marketed via Facebook, Instagram, email blasts, race calendars, Groupon, Rush49 and the numbers did very well! Then on March 15, 2020 the mayor of CA declared no events larger than 50 people due to Covid-19. And we all know how the story goes after that. Hence, why the event never happened.
